Throughout September, the Academic Advising Center will be providing workshops to address some common challenges faced by college students. In these workshops, students will learn strategies and skills to prepare them for academic success.  

All workshops are held from 12:10-1:05pm in Business 206 unless otherwise noted.

Strategies for Success - This session will discuss the connection between note-taking, studying and exam prep.
Tuesday, 9/3 & Thursday, 9/19.

Manage your Time - In this session you will learn how to balance your time management plan while making the most of your free time as you transition to college. Thursday, 9/12 in Business 301 & Thursday 9/26 in Business 206.

Academic Planning - If you are interested in learning more about your degree requirements, fitting in study abroad, or planning for another major or minor, this session will introduce you to the tools that will help you plan your academic career.  Tuesday 9/10 & 9/24.

Effective Communication in College - In this session students will learn the fundamental tools needed to communicate appropriately with faculty and staff on campus, including professional email etiquette as well as how to prepare for and use office hours. Thursday 9/5 & Tuesday 9/17.

Registration is required as seats are limited. Register through the Academic Advising Center’s IC Engage page (netpass login required).
