myIthaca Portal is Retiring

Contributed by Mary Knapp on 09/03/19

In the early 2000s a novel concept arose in the design of a portal that allowed students to apply online and check the status of their application.  That creation was the myIthaca portal.  This gateway helped each student navigate through the application process in a personalized fashion.  After 5 years a new feature was added, IC Peers, that allowed applicants to chat directly with one another to build relationships.  This social media activity in myIthaca and IC Peers has been an integral part of our student recruitment and enrollment.

The myIthaca platform, built and maintained by Ithaca College, has become less effective over time with the emergence of other global technologies and social media applications.  This fall, we will turn off myIthaca after 15+ years of faithful service to the college and replace it with state-of-the-art constituent relationship management tools.

Help us celebrate the creativity, strategic thinking, and technical savvy that fed into myIthaca’s success over the years as we decommission it for some well-earned retirement.  Please join us on Thursday September 12th from 4-5pm on the PRW Patio.
