This semester we are proud to offer five days of teaching visits. From September 30th - October 4th, classes taught by some of the most respected (and willing) instructors across many disciplines will open their classroom doors to faculty of all ranks. This year, faculty can select a session of interest from over thirty-five class choices.

The IC Teaching program is intended to encourage intentionality and reflection on teaching choices and contexts. These observations are not intended as critiques of teachers, nor are they meant to be a way for teachers to gather feedback about their performance. Instead, these classroom observations provide an opportunity for real-world observations about the pedagogical choices we make as teachers.

To register for these visits:

  • View the list of classroom observation sessions offered
  • Select the session you are interested in (e.g. Monday Session#1).
  • Register here Be sure to include your name, email, and session selection.
  • When the visit approaches, you will receive a confirmation e-mail that includes an observation protocol and reflection guide.
  • If you register but find that you are unable to attend, please let us know. Please be mindful that space is limited.

Contact Judith Ross-Bernstein (jrossbernstein@ithaca.edu) at the Center for Faculty Excellence if you have any questions.
