White Fragility - a conversation hosted by the Women’s Mentoring NetworkContributed by Colette Matisco on 09/26/19 Based on high interest, the Women’s Mentoring Network is pleased to offer another session of the coffee conversation titled White Fragility: Cultivating accountability and action around white supremacy. This session will be held October 23, 12:00-1:00pm and will be hosted by Eileen Harrington. During this women’s chat we will examine white fragility as a tool of white supremacy. We will discuss how to identify and discuss both the everyday and systemic impacts of white fragility, with a specific focus on how white people can disrupt white fragility, build resiliency, commit to accountability for themselves and others, and pursue tangible anti-racist action. Registration will be limited to 10 women (faculty and staff) per conversation to allow for meaningful dialogue. If there is interest that exceeds capacity, we can explore adding more dates. To RSVP visit the CFE events page.
Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Colette Matisco at cmatisco@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-3734. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible. |
