2019 Ithaca Pan Asian American Film Festival: Friday Oct 4 Cinemapolis 5-7pmContributed by Wendsor Yamashita on 10/02/19 The 2019 Ithaca Pan Asian American Film Festival will screen two films: Transfinite (feature-length) and Afterearth (short) at Cinemapolis, Friday October 4 from 5-7pm. It is free and open to the public. Transfinite is a sci-fi omnibus feature film composed of seven standalone short stores where supernatural trans and queer people from various cultures use their powers to protect, love, teach, fight, and thrive. The director, Neelu Bhuman, will join us via Skype for a Q&A following the film. Afterearth is a thirteen-minute narrative about the fight of four women to preserve their homelands of Hawaii, the Philippines, China, and North America. Kit Yan, the writer of the film, will join us for an on-campus talk (Oct 4, Clark Lounge, 12-1pm) and for the Q&A after the screening at Cinemapolis.
