 The Ithaca Music Forum continues this semester with our second guest scholar, Dr. Kwami Coleman on, "'Primitive Polyphony' or, When Things are Ordered Differently (in Improvisation.) 

Texture is taken for granted in music theory as an objective category, but the objectivity sought in analyzing structural "order" in music has a legacy shaped by imperialism and notions of ethnic and cultural difference.
