Dr. Sean Eversley Bradwell was an invited speaker at the “Diversity Symposium of Thought Leaders,” sponsored in July by the The New York State Council of School Superintendents Commission on Diversity and Inclusion. 

 

His talk, “The N-Word: Origins, Ownership and Impact of Language,” was followed by a powerful panel discussion that included Dr. Eversley Bradwell moderated. Panelists included Ithaca City School District Superintendent Dr. Luvelle Brown; author of Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain Dr. Zaretta Hammond; assistant director of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence Dr. Dena Simmons; and author of We Want to Do More Than Survive:  Abolitionist Teaching and the Pursuit of Educational Freedom Dr. Betina Love.
