Registration tips and tricks ...

Contributed by Vikki Levine on 10/15/19

Keep in mind when registering for spring 2020 classes, if the class is full use the Waitlist feature.

·         When a seat opens up in a waitlisted course, the 1st student on waitlist will receive an email notification to register for the course.

·         The notice will expire in 24 hours (during add/drop week the notice will expire in 12 hours).

·         View the Student Waitlist Guide for more information on how to use waitlist.

·         The Capacity Override form is no longer available in IC Workflow, Waitlist has replaced it.

What registration error messages would I use IC workflow for?

·        This course is restricted by class level (freshmen, sophomore, e.g.) that you do not meet.

·        This course is restricted to a specific degree program you do not meet.

·         This course is restricted to a specific major or minor that you do not meet.

·         This course is restricted to a specific school.

·         You do not meet the prerequisites for this course.

·         Find detailed information here Course Registration Error Messages

·         If you receive a Time Conflict error message, click on this link to access the Time Conflict Override Form

Error messages will prevent you from being able to register for the course without the proper override approval if one is justified. To submit an override, login to IC Workflow and click on Course Registration Override. Complete and submit the form, if approved, you will be able to register for the section of the course you submitted the override for.

Information regarding registration dates can be found at:

Spring 2020 Course Registration  or  Winter 2020 Course Registration
