The Department of Writing's Distinguished Visiting Writers Series presents literary journalist Ted Conover on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, 7 pm in Textor Hall 101.

Ted Conover has published six books, including Immersion: A Writer's Guide to Going DeepRolling Nowhere: Riding the Rails With America's Hoboes, and Coyotes: A Journey Across Borders With America's Mexican Migrants. His book Newjack: Guarding Sing Sing resulted from ten months of undercover reporting as a prison guard at New York's Sing Sing Prison; it won the National Book Critics Circle Award and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize.

Currently Conover directs the Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute at New York University.
