Brown Bag Lunch: First-Up, Serving First-Generation College StudentsContributed by Jenelle Whalon on 10/24/19
We invite you to bring your lunch and your questions to Kling Lounge Tuesday, October 29th for an exciting opportunity to discuss how Ithaca College is evolving to better serve First-Generation college students.
Titled, "First-Up, Serving First-Generation College Students," Assistant Director of New Student & Transition Programs, Lia Muñoz, will be leading this discussion style brown-bag lunch in order to provide staff and faculty an informal opportunity to learn more about best practices to serve First-Generation students both in and out of the classroom. Learn about the resources consistently available for reference in order to inform your interactions with First-Gen students on campus, and see how IC and other institutions are putting theory to practice to support their own First-Generation student populations! Light snacks and refreshments will be available. This event is co-sponsored by New Student and Transition Programs and the Student Affairs and Campus Life Professional Development Committee. Individuals requiring accommodations should reach out to Jenelle Whalon at jwhalon@ithaca.edu. We ask that requests for accommodations are made as soon as possible. |
