Ithaca College

Students from Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, and Therapeutic Recreation, all came together for an Interprofessional Education Event on Tuesday, November 5th 2019. The event was focused on rehabilitation of patients after a stroke.

The students had three experiences: a patients story from the community who had a stroke, discussion of a case and watched a video of a rehab team meeting. 165 students participated in the event along with faculty and clinicians who were table facilitators. The event  incorporated the Interprofessional Collaboration Core Competencies of Values/Ethics, Roles/Responsibilities, Interprofessional Communication, and Teams & Teamwork. The organizers of the event were Laura Gras, Sarah Fishel, Joe Ungco, Kellie Mooney, Sam Brown, Jan Elich Monroe, Aly Pasquale and Kayleigh Plumeau.
