Ithaca College's student-run television and radio stations, ICTV and WICB, were honored at the College Broadcasters Inc. (CBI) National Student Electronic Media Convention in St. Louis, Missouri for outstanding news, sports and entertainment programming. The annual event was held Thursday, October 31st - Saturday, November 2nd.

The following students were recognized in CBI's National Student Production Awards Competition:

ICTV

  • Best Station Promo (Video) - 1st Place - ICTV Reports Promo - Manny Sanchez '22
  • Best Special Broadcast (Video) - 3rd Place - Election Center 2018 - Patricia Visceglia '20, Molly North '19 and Michael Pyskaty '19
  • Best General Entertainment Program (Video) - 4th Place - Looseleaf - Kyle Lauerman '20, Val DiGloria '19 and Kristen Karaliunas '19 

WICB

  • Best Podcast - 1st Place - Six Degrees - Sarah Horbacewicz '20
  • Best Sports Reporting (Audio) - 1st Place - Cortaca Jug Football Game Open - Cam Pratt '19


In addition, members of WICB and VIC Radio presented sessions at the convention including:

  • Using Graphic Design, Animation and Systems to Grow Your Station - Presented by WICB Station Manager Peter Champelli
  • Music (Un)Incorporated: How to Grow Your Local Music Scene - Presented by WICB Local Music Director Pia Rizzo-Wittlin
  • Roundtable Discussion: The Music Director's Responsibility in the #MeToo Era - Presented by VIC Radio Station Manager Kate Sustick
  • Getting Along With Your Licensee and Radio/TV/Multimedia Show and Tell - Presented by WICB, VIC Radio and ICTV General Manager Jeremy Menard

ICTV programming airs during the academic year locally in Tompkins County on Spectrum Channel 16 and streams at ICTV.org. WICB broadcast locally on 91.7 FM and streams at WICB.org, iHeart Radio and through the WICB and TuneIn mobile apps. VIC Radio streams at VICRadio.org and through the VIC Radio and TuneIn mobile apps.
