Please join us for a Transgender Day of Remembrance Gathering to honor and mourn transgender and gender non-conforming people whose lives have been lost to violence this past year in the US. It will take place on Wednesday November 20 in Muller Chapel. It will begin at 12:15 PM and end at 12:50 PM. Transgender Day of Remembrance is an observance to honor and mourn transgender and gender non-conforming people whose lives have been lost to violence this past year in the US. The International Transgender Day of Remembrance began as a candlelight vigil in San Francisco in 1999, commemorating the life of Rita Hester, an African American trans woman who was murdered in nearby Allston. Sponsored by the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life, and the Center for LGBT Education, Outreach & Services. Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life at spirituallife@ithaca.edu . We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible. |
