Transgender Day of Remembrance Gathering Wednesday Nov 20Contributed by Luca Maurer on 11/17/19
Transgender Day of Remembrance is an observance to honor and mourn transgender and gender non-conforming people whose lives have been lost to violence this past year in the US. The International Transgender Day of Remembrance began as a candlelight vigil in San Francisco in 1999, commemorating the life of Rita Hester, an African American trans woman who was murdered in nearby Allston. Sponsored by the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life, and the Center for LGBT Education, Outreach & Services. Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life at spirituallife@ithaca.edu . We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible. |
