Megan Martinez (Math) Presents Research at AMS Southeastern Sectional MeetingContributed by David Brown on 11/20/19 Megan Martinez, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, presented "Bijections between permutation and inversion sequence classes" at the Fall Meeting of the AMS Southeastern Section, held at the University of Florida on November 3, 2019. The abstract of Megan's talk: "In this talk, we will examine how different bijections between permutations and inversion sequences, some already known and some newly established, can be utilized to connect pattern-avoiding permutation classes to pattern-avoiding inversion sequence classes. In some cases, these bijections allow us to find new enumerative results for permutation classes, or new proofs of known results. We will additionally explore how these bijections allow us to correlate a number of statistics on permutations and inversion sequences." |
