Patricia Zimmermann, Professor of Screen Studies and Codirector of the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival, coauthored with Dale Hudson from New York University Abu Dhabi an article for the inaugural issue of the new journal Media + Environment, published by the University of California Press.

Their article, “States of Environmentalist Media,” argues for a shift from media representations of environmental issues to considering a concept of environmentalist media across platforms and spaces that offers new conceptualizations of the entanglement between the human, nonhuman, nature, and built environment.  It is derived from ideas explored in their current book project, Documentary Habitats: Environments of New Media.
