As we approach the end of the fall 2019 semester, the Sponsored Research grants team would like to make you aware of two items:

Patrick Luker was hired as our Project Coordinator in mid-October to replace Stephanie St. John, who resigned to move back to the warmer confines of Florida.  Patrick comes to us from Cornell with several years of grant experience.  In addition to assisting with grant processes,  he will also be the administrative support person for IRB, IACUC, and Biosafety.  Patrick can be reached at 274-1206 or pluker@ithaca.edu.

The National Science Foundation (NSF) produces an annual Proposal and Award Policies and Procedures Guide (PAPPG) which  provides very useful information on proposal preparation and other grant matters.  The 2020 edition will be released soon and, per the below announcement from NSF, we would like to call your attention to format changes involving the Biosketches and Current and Pending Support sections of the NSF grant proposal:

  • NSF is partnering with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to use SciENcv: Science Experts Network Curriculum Vitae as an NSF-approved format for use in preparation of both the Biographical Sketch and Current and Pending Support sections of an NSF proposal.

  • SciENcv allows proposers to integrate their ORCiD to enable pre-population for the Biographical Sketch. Additional information is available on the ORCiD website.

  • Additional resources including video tutorials are available on the SciENcv website.

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Patrick Luker at pluker@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-1206. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
