On Friday, December 13, Provost La Jerne Terry Cornish sent a message to the campus community on the topic of Student Voices and Our Campus Climate. As students are visiting the hallways of Dillingham Center to view the shared statements of their peers, and to share their own campus experiences inside and outside of the classroom around issues of race, gender, and sexual violence, the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Life would like to continue to offer our support. Throughout this finals week, if you are looking for a space to process, to be in community, or simply to talk through campus experiences and resources, staff from the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life; the Center for LGBT Education, Outreach, and Services; and the Center for IDEAS are making themselves available for you.
All of these offices are also confidential resources for students who wish to talk to someone in confidence as you consider your options for reporting sexual violence. Most of all, we want you to know that you do not need to be alone, or feel alone; that we are here to lend an ear if you need one as we wrap up the fall semester. Best, Rosanna Ferro |
