Ithaca College will hold a shelter-in-place drill for the Park Center for Business and Sustainable Enterprise on Thursday, January 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and Gannett Center on Friday, January 17th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

All School of Business offices and services in the Park Center for Business and Sustainable Enterprise will be closed to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. during the drill on Thursday.

All operations and offices in Gannett Center, including the library, will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. during the drill on Friday.

Only the School of Business and Gannett Center will be involved in the drills. The rest of the campus will be unaffected.

The Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management is working with offices across campus to develop individualized emergency response plans, and the drill will provide an opportunity for those who work these spaces to practice responding to an active-shooter type situation.

The drill will not include any simulated attack, but rather will commence and conclude with an announcement to employees who work in the building.

Signage will be placed at the building entrances in advance of and during the drill, and Public Safety will be stationed in the area. Members of the campus community not participating do not need to take any action.

If you have any questions about the drill, contact Bill Kerry, director and chief of the Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management, at wkerry@ithaca.edu.
