The Census 2020 is Hiring – and paying $20 per hourContributed by Doreen Hettich-Atkins on 02/03/20 The Census is hiring in Tompkins County (and all across the country). The goal is to hire 700 people in Tompkins County alone! Positions are well paid (earning at least $20.00 per hour plus 58 cents per mile for mileage reimbursement). Paid training is provided. Positions are part-time and have flexible hours (mostly nights and weekends - so great for college students).
People with second language skills are particularly needed. Citizens of the US are preferred, but non-citizens with work permits are also eligible particularly if they have second-language skills. All applicants must be at least 18 years old. You can apply online at 2020census.gov/jobs. For more information you can call 1-855-job-2020 Federal relay service (1-800-877-8339 TTY/ASCII) www.gsa.gov/fedrelay For the first time, the Census will be able to be completed on-line. The internet survey and paper questionnaires will be available in 12 non-English languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Haitian Creole, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog, Vietnamese) well.
