Drop-in Skills Groups at CAPS

Contributed by Sasha Lerner on 02/13/20

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is once again offering drop-in Skills Groups to help students better cope with anxiety, regulate moods, learn more effective communication skills, and build healthier relationships.

No appointment is required, and you do not have to be a CAPS client to attend.  We are offering three Drop-in Skills Groups this semester, with some having multiple sections:

Building Your Anxiety Toolbox (Tuesdays 11-11:50 AM; Wednesdays 4-4:50 PM; Thursdays 4-4:50 PM)

  • Learn new skills and strategies for healthy coping and reducing distress or overwhelm.

Emotional Expression Toolbox (Fridays 1-2 PM)

  • Develop new skills and identify, manage, and express positive and negative emotions in effective and non-harmful ways (including creative writing, journaling, art, etc.).

Communication Toolbox (Tuesdays 1:30--2:20 PM)

  • Learn skills for communicating effectively, building healthy relationships, expressing yourself, and finding your voice.

Please see our web page for more information about the wide variety of Groups offered at CAPS:
