THE ITHACA MUSIC FORUM presents "Race, Mobility and the Warp and Weft of American Musical Fabric" by Dr. Nancy Rao (Rutgers University). Friday, 2/21 at 5PM.Contributed by Deborah Rifkin on 02/13/20 The Ithaca Music Forum presents, "Race Mobility and the Warp and Weft of American Musical Fabric" by Dr. Nancy Rao (Rutgers University). Dr. Rao discusses the networks and migrations that made Chinese opera a part of North American cultures. In particular, she explores issues of archives, border crossings, visual emblems, and the sounding of identity. Free and open to the public. Reception to follow.
