Ithaca College

Ithaca College is inviting applications from current students who are interested in serving a two-year term as the next Student Trustee. The term begins in May 2020 and runs until May 2022. Due to current changes to the college schedule, the search committee is extending the deadline to apply to Sunday, March 29.

The Student Trustee is a full voting member of the Board of Trustees and is expected to share the student perspective as a contributing member. The Student Trustee is expected to attend the 3 scheduled trustee meetings each year (October, February, and May). There may be additional meetings called as necessary, particularly for individual committees the trustee may be a member of. In addition, the student trustee may be asked to attend other meetings and/or events on campus when appropriate. Trustees also participate and march in Commencement and Convocation each year (May and August).

It is expected the Student Trustee will participate in full Board meetings as well as sit on 2 additional committees. Trustees have the opportunity to state their preference regarding which committees they would like to participate in but there is no guarantee of assignment. Committee membership is re-assigned each year, and may or may not be the same assignment each year. The current committees are listed below:

• Academic and Student Affairs
• Audit
• Buildings and Grounds
• Governance and Compensation/Assessment
• Executive
• Finance and Investment
• Institutional Advancement

Candidates must be current first-year or sophomore students in good academic and judicial standing. The Student Trustee must commit to remaining on campus for the entirety of his/her tenure for two years.

Top applicants will be invited to participate in 30-minute Zoom interview with the screening committee, which is made up of the current Student Trustee, and three other student leaders.
