Dear Ithaca College Community: I want you to know that we have been paying close attention to your questions and feedback around the recent announcement about the college’s decision to extend spring break and move to remote instruction. We made this very difficult decision to prioritize the safety and health of all faculty, staff, and students, and to minimize the impact of this public health issue on our local community. We are asking ALL students to remain off campus or to leave campus as soon as possible, and no later than 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 15. Since we will be beginning remote instruction after the extended spring break, we also request that students who live off campus consider returning to their permanent homes, as well. We understand that leaving campus may not be possible or prudent for everyone. We encourage any students with significant concerns to complete a confidential request for approval to stay on campus. Students who remain on campus should practice social distancing and enhanced hygiene practices. Those who are approved to stay on campus should be aware that most campus operations will have extremely limited hours and services. This FAQ provides details about the specific services that will be available to those remaining on campus and contains the answers to many of the questions that we have been receiving. This document will be updated regularly as information changes. The coronavirus situation worldwide continues to evolve rapidly, and we anticipate sending regular updates to the campus community. You can always find important information and updates about our coronavirus response on our dedicated website. Thank you for your continued understanding. Rosanna Ferro, Ed.D. |
