Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) and the Center for Faculty Excellence will host workshops, panels, and conversations during the week of March 16-20 to assist faculty preparing to teach remotely.

Planning to Teach Remotely 

This workshop will use a series of prompts to assist in course redesign for remote teaching. Accessibility and equity will be considered. 

 

12:30 -1:30  

Using Zoom for Remote Teaching  

This session will help participants develop skill in using Zoom in remote teaching. 

 

2-3 PM   

Conversations about Remote Teaching - Facilitating Discussions

Getting Start Using Sakai to Teach Remotely 

This session will introduce good practices for using Sakai as the primary application for teaching remotely.

Using Zoom for Remote Teaching  

This session will help participants develop skill in using Zoom in remote teaching. 

 

2-3 PM   

Conversations about Remote Teaching – Assessment

Using Sakai Forums: Best Practices for Discussions 

In this session, Judith Pena-Shaff (psychology) will share her research on best practices for leading online discussions.

This session will help participants develop skill in using Zoom in remote teaching.

Innovative Remote Instruction 

A panel of faculty members will share their innovative approaches to using Sakai, Zoom, Flipgrid and other tools in remote instruction.

This session will introduce the Voice Thread application in remote instruction.  Voice Thread is an asynchronous multimedia discussion board.
