Academic Program Prioritization (APP) action group soliciting faculty feedbackContributed by Chris McNamara on 04/20/20 The Academic Program Prioritization (APP) action group, as part of the implementation planning for Ithaca Forever, is soliciting faculty input on the development of principles by which all programs will be evaluated, looking for areas with capacity for growth, programs that could potentially be combined, programs that might stay as they are, and those that might need to be sunsetted. Our first task is identifying, as best we can, broad approaches that will ensure that academic programs are running as efficiently as possible. The purpose of these small faculty sessions is to get feedback from faculty on the principles by which this academic program prioritization will be conducted; these principles will inform and guide the Provost through decision-making and implementation processes. At the bottom of this announcement you will find a Sign-Up Genius link to the sessions scheduled in the coming days. Each session is limited to 30 attendees (in order to facilitate discussion) and will be available on a first come – first served basis. Once you are signed up for a meeting, you will receive a link to the respective Zoom meeting. If you would like to participate in a session but are unable to get in to one, please email Chris McNamara @ cmcnamara@ithaca.edu . Once all of these sessions are conducted and the information synthesized, a Qualtrics survey in which you will be asked to rank the guiding principles will be sent out to all faculty. At the conclusion of the action group’s work, a report will be shared with the Board of Trustees and the faculty as a whole.
