IT will be deleting older/inactive Sakai sites over summerContributed by Jenna Linskens on 05/07/20 Beginning this summer, and at the end of June each year, IT will automatically be deleting all Sakai course sites that are more than 5-years old (most have not been accessed in years). In addition, all Sakai Project sites that have been inactive for more than 2-years will also be removed. Sites marked for deletion will be purged from the system after the end of Summer 1 term (June 26, 2020). This process is to ensure compliance with retention guidelines, reduce increasing storage costs, and improving the overall functioning of Sakai and related systems. If you have course material that is older than 5 years that you would like to retain we can help you move it from Sakai to other IT supported software for future reference. You can view options to retain materials in the Knowledge base article titled How To: Retain course Content Before Sakai Site Deletion. If you need assistance or have questions, please reach out to the IT Teaching & Learning with Technology team by submitting a Service Request Ticket, calling the Service Desk (607)274-1000, or connect with a Service Desk employee through the live chat. |
