YOU DID IT!!!!!!!!!! All of your hard work has finally paid off and the Office of New Student & Transition Programs and the Office of Public Safety are so proud of your accomplishments and we want to celebrate YOU! If you identify as a first-generation college student who is graduating in 2020, please complete the form linked at the bottom of this story to receive a care-package from NSTP and OPS as a token of our continued support of you and all of your outstanding achievements. Please submit this form no later than May 15th in order to receive your package in a timely manner. Ithaca College provides programming for first-generation students or any student who may like some assistance getting accustomed to college-specific terminology and processes. First-gen means you are among the first generation in your immediate family to attend or graduate from a four-year, residential college in the U.S. Importantly, even if your sibling(s) attended college, you can still be considered “first-gen.” We recognize that this is not how any of us anticipated celebrating this class of incredible graduates, but we hope that we can recognize you from afar and make you feel as special and loved as you all are. Commencement is normally one of the happiest and saddest days for us as we get to see so many of our beloved students reach an incredible milestone in life, but also have to say goodbye to some of the most special people that we have grown so close to over the years. We have faith that we will still have that opportunity to celebrate YOU in-person, but until that time, we want to make sure that we are taking a moment to share our LOVE, SUPPORT, and ADMIRATION of you and the incredible college graduate you have grown to be!
