It is with heavy hearts that we remember Dr. Sue-Je Gage, an associate professor of anthropology who died unexpectedly last weekend.

On Wednesday, May 13, there will be a virtual memorial service to honor our colleague and friend. This service will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 2:40 p.m. and is open to all staff, faculty, students, and alumni. Attendees are also encouraged to bring a candle to this virtual gathering space.

Please access the service with the following link: https://ithaca.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_K-wdIpE3TVmtY9P1Ro7_wA

In addition, the anthropology department has created an online memorial page and has asked that it be shared with the campus community:

Dr. Gage began her tenure at Ithaca College in 2008 as assistant professor of anthropology. She brought a fresh perspective to her work, and during her time at the college she enriched our classrooms. Dr. Gage’s research focused on mixed-race populations and issues of cultural diversity, and her teaching emphasized experiential learning and was characterized by attention to individual students. She held many professional affiliations and received numerous honors and awards over her teaching career, and served as a President’s Fellow in 2018-19 and as Faculty Advocate in the Office of the Provost over the past year.

Please take a moment at Wednesday’s memorial gathering or on your own to remember and honor the life of Dr. Sue-Je Gage.
