Paula E.F. Younger, Ithaca College’s executive director for government and community relations, will take a leave of absence from the college to serve as campaign manager for Congressional candidate Tracy Mitrano. Younger will begin her assignment with the campaign in June and plans to return to the college after her leave is completed in November. Younger joined the staff in the office of President Shirley M. Collado in January of 2018 after having served since 2006 as deputy county administrator for Tompkins County. She brought to her role at the college over 25 years of leadership and management experience in both the public and private sectors. Younger works collaboratively with the president’s senior leadership team to develop productive, mutually beneficial relationships with the local community and to advance the college’s interests with federal, state, and local government. She also works with various campus partners to assist businesses and community groups in connecting to college resources. “Paula has been an asset to Ithaca College in building a wide range of relationships over the past two years, and I am sure she will bring the same energy, enthusiasm, and expertise to this campaign position,” said Collado. “We are thrilled for Paula, and support her taking full advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.” The Office of the President is working collaboratively with Younger to ensure that her current government and community relations work is covered by key members of college leadership.
