Upcoming Events Featuring Associate Professor Saviana Stanescu (Condeescu)Contributed by Kelsey Dunne on 06/15/20 Associate Professor of Playwriting, Saviana Stanescu (Condeescu) has a few exciting events in June: Friday, June 19, 7.30 pm: BLACK WOMEN AND THE BALLOT Saviana is honored to have her short play DON’T / DREAM (about an immigrant domestic worker) presented with two plays by four-time Emmy-nominated Judy Tate, as part of The American Slavery Project’s Juneteenth event, supported by Manhattan Theatre Club, EST, Civic Ensemble, etc. Tune in – it’s FREE. It's FREE. “When two mysterious weavers arrive in a kingdom bearing the most magnificent fabrics, the self-absorbed ruler demands an outfit of his own. Tuesday, June 23, 8 pm: LIBERTY’S DAUGHTERS – Immigrant Women’s Monologues In honor of Immigrant Heritage Month, IASNY (Immigrant/International Artists and Scholars in New York) and the Nuyorican Poets Cafe present LIBERTY'S DAUGHTERS, an evening of Immigrant Women's Monologues written by members of Honor Roll! (women playwrights 40+) and IASNY writers. Hosted by Saviana. Featuring monologues by artists: Liz Amadio, DEBRA CARDONA, ALICE EVE COHEN, Cecilia Copeland, Jenna Chrisphonte, Minita Gandhi, DANA LESLIE GOLDSTEIN, YVETTE HEYLIGER, Jessica Litwak, Maria MicheleS, VERNICE MILLER, LISA RAMIREZ, SOPHIA ROMMA, SAVIANA STĂNESCU.
