Become a College Trained Advisor

Contributed by Omar Stoute on 06/25/20

We are seeking staff members to volunteer for the College Trained (Process) Advisor position for students involved in cases of sexual misconduct. The College Trained Advisors will be part of a pool available to complainants and respondents as they go through the investigative and judicial processes.

College Trained Advisors will offer support and direction to students throughout the process including attendance at all meetings related to a sexual misconduct case. There will be a comprehensive training offered virtually. The online training will be completed, independently, by September 7th to be followed by a Q+A Review Session (9/8/20), Skill Building Workshop (9/9/20), and Mock Conduct Review Board (9/10/20), with staff from Title IX, Judicial Affairs, Legal Affairs, and the Tompkins County Advocacy Center.

Please contact Omar Stoute at ostoute1@ithaca.edu by Monday, August 31st, if you are interested in serving as an advisor for the upcoming year or have questions about the position or training.

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Omar Stoute at ostoute1@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-5136. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
