A Response to Actions of Anti-Semitism- Jewish Students: Join us for an Important ConversationContributed by Jordan Stecker on 07/15/20 A Note from Executive Board of The Jewish Student Union at Ithaca College In the past few days, recent issues regarding Anti-Semitism toward two Ithaca College students have been brought to our attention. The events that transpired were shared anonymously through "Jewish on Campus", a large Instagram page that records incidents of hate and violations against our global community on college campuses throughout the United States. When these issues occur, they only affect not only the intended victim, but our entire community. In an effort to be as responsive and caring for our community as possible, we have already reported these issues to members of the Ithaca College Bias Response Team. While we look forward to the diligent actions that this team will take, we also hope for proactive measures that will ensure that these types of events do not repeat themselves. As this matter falls under our organization's important umbrella category of "Jewish Student Protection", we will be discussing these matters and our community response at our Union Meeting this week. (Please RSVP with this link to attend the meeting: https://forms.gle/QehSUThi1WnyV19Q) To the larger Ithaca College Jewish Community, please know that we are here for you and will do whatever we can to ensure equity, equality, and protection for all Jewish students, faculty members, and staff. Please feel free to reach out to us at Jewish@ithaca.edu if you would like to discuss what has happened and how we can further respond as a community. In Solidarity, The Executive Board of The Jewish Student Union at Ithaca College
