The New Jim Crow Reading Group welcomes faculty, staff, and students as new members.

We are discussing one chapter a month of Michelle Alexander's bestselling and widely acclaimed book The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness. Whether you are coming to this landmark, extraordinarily informative book about structural racism for the first time or are ready for a re-reading, you are invited to join us.

On Friday August 21 at 11am on Zoom we will be discussing Chapter 2 (of a total of six chapters). The book is available instantly as an E-Book as well as in print. We already discussed Chapter 1 but it will be easy to catch up.

For more information and/or to be added to our group list (so that you'll receive the Zoom link and future meeting dates), contact Harriet Malinowitz, Lecturer in Writing and Women's and Gender Studies, at hmalinowitz@ithaca.edu.
