Ithaca College

It is with mixed emotion that I share news of the departure of our colleague Cara Nichols, associate director for on campus recruitment. Cara is a dedicated IC alumna and enrollment champion who has devoted ten years to working with prospective students and families in supporting their college search and visits to our campus community. Please join me to celebrate Cara, 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 14 via Zoom

Cara returned to Ithaca to join the Admission team in August of 2010. As an alumna and professional, always a strong ambassador for IC, Cara has represented the college campus-wide, locally, nationally, and internationally.

Cara is eager to spend more time with family. Cara’s spouse, Eric Nichols also part of the IC family, and their two young children – Cole and Conner are looking forward to more time together on the lake and at the beach.

Cara’s regular presence and leadership on the Admission team will definitely be missed. In my 10 years of working with Cara, I’ve admired her dedication to the college, resourcefulness, and ambition. During Cara’s tenure we’ve welcomed and hosted hundreds of thousands of visitors and Cara has guided our visit experience through partnerships across campus, the community, and the nation. Cara’s last day will be August 15th, and I know you’ll continue to see her engaging with the Ithaca College community when we return to campus.

In the meantime, please join me in recognizing Cara for excellent work and wish her well on her next adventure.
