According to New York State Law, class absences due religious observance are fully excused. As one of the organizations that support Jewish students at Ithaca College, the Jewish Student Union is here to help. The JSU is offering the following assistance to any Jewish students who need it: - Peer-reviewing letters written by students for their professors regarding religious absences. - Providing pre-written letters for students who are unexperienced in communicating these types of matters with their professors. - Researching and providing information for students pertaining to synagogues, Rabbis, and other religious resources in their local communities - Connecting religiously/spiritually observant students to the Ithaca College Office of Religious and Spiritual Life and other faith-based Ithaca College/Ithaca Community resources Should any student need any other help, they should feel free to contact us at JSU@ithaca.edu. |
