Ithaca College understands that self-care and wellness are the cornerstone of success both in college and in life. We also understand that self-care and wellness can look different for everyone, so we are here to support you on your journey to wellness – however that may look. Additionally, we would like to share some wonderful new opportunities to connect with current students, faculty, and staff who are here to support you on that journey. We have identified 8 different areas of wellness including: Physical, Emotional/Mental, Environmental, Financial, Occupational, Social, Intellectual, and Spiritual wellness. We invite you to join us for our bi-weekly Wellness Adventures on the Go, where some wonderful folks from the IC community will lead you on local adventures while touching on each aspect of wellness mentioned above to encourage you to prioritize your own self-care, share important self-care and wellness tips, connect you to the IC community, and connect you the greater Ithaca area during these isolating times. We are excited to announce that the first Wellness Adventure of the series is launching today, September 16th at 12:00 pm, at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvlgZmbifQE&feature=youtu.be. We encourage you to tune in as IC Fitness Center & Yoga Club Instructor, Adam, takes you on a mindful journey through sites around the Ithaca College campus and in the Ithaca area while focusing on Emotional and Spiritual Wellness. Get out your Yoga mat, find a quiet place. Breathe. Relax. Peace. In addition to Wellness Adventures, we will be intermittently introducing various individuals in the IC community who are here to support our students in whatever ways they may need, so stay tuned to learn more. You can also check out upcoming self-care and wellness programs at the Wellness Adventures on the Go Engage portal (more updates coming soon). Most importantly, we want students to remember that while you may not be here, we are ALWAYS here for you!
If you are a student, staff, or faculty member who would like to submit a short video introduction and/or offer any additional suggestions for Fall 2020 Self-Care and Wellness Programming – please feel free to email jwhalon@ithaca.edu with the subject “Self-Care and Wellness.” ~ Stay well ~ |
