 Emergency Evacuation drills will be conducted over the next few weeks for all occupied academic and residential life buildings.

As required by the New York State Fire Code, Ithaca College Environmental Health and Safety personnel will be conducting fire and evacuation drills for all campus occupied buildings over the course of the next few weeks.  The fire code is very specific as to the number of drills  to be conducted, that they must be conducted at random times of the day when the building is in operation.

As is always the case, you are required to exit a building in a safe and expedited manner any time the fire alarm system is activated, and then gather at the building’s established meeting spot.  EH&S will attempt to avoid conducting drills during study weeks, exam weeks etc., and every effort will be made to conduct the drills during reasonable weather. If you are aware of a specific date or time that may be a conflict (exam, lab, etc.) please advise our office and we will try to avoid the time period.
