The Park Podcast series features extended conversations on the communications industry and professions. Students Savannah Dames IC'22, Julia Batista IC'22 and Teddy Bryne IC'21 invite alumni across the Roy H. Park School of Communications to discuss their career journey.

The Park Professional Development Office is partnering with current Park students and the Ithaca College  chapter of We Are Next to deliver these career focused sessions.

Host: Savannah Dames IC'22, is an Integrated Marketing Communications major pursuing a career in Public Relations. She is the Vice President of PACE, the Professional Achievement and Career Excellence club on campus and works as an administrative assistant for the IC Honors Program. In her free time, she enjoys reading Elin Hilderbrand novels and waterskiing on Lake Minnetonka.

Host: Julia Batista IC'22 is an Integrated Marketing Communications and double minoring in International Business and Media Literacy. As an extracurricular activity, Julia is the Social Media Editor, Website Editor, and Treasurer of an on-campus magazine called Buzzsaw Magazine.

Host: Elena Chang IC'21 is an Integrated Marketing Communications major with minors in Graphic Design and Live Event Design & Management. Some of her involvement includes her roles as the VP of Public Relations for Asian American Alliance, Color Guard Coach in an off-campus marching band, and a brand ambassador for We Are Next. 

Producer: Teddy Byrne IC'21 is a Television-Radio major with extensive production experience. He has served as a producer for ICTV’s Good Day Ithaca and Election Center, director of News Watch Sunday and production director for VIC Radio. As production director, Teddy spearheaded the new VIC Podcasting department, or “VICcasts”, overseeing the development of four different podcasts. When not in Ithaca, Teddy works as a freelance videographer and web designer, most notably for BaysideLiveTV.com. He is currently a production specialist for the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island, assisting churches in livestreaming.

Slated Fall 2020 career podcast discussions include but is not limited to:

  • Faith Chadwick IC'17, the Public Information Officer (PIO) for IndyGo, the largest public transportation provider in Indiana. Chadwick graduated from the Communication Management and Design program at Ithaca College in 2017, with a concentration in corporate communications. Chadwick also holds a Masters of Public Affairs from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
  • Kylee C. Roberts IC'19, a multimedia content creator looking to give voices to those without a platform. Her latest venture is Black Friend Collective - a podcast hosted by nine token Black friends, venting about life and getting ‘political’. Currently, she works at The Lower Eastside Girls Club as the Communications & Development Associate, developing and executing communications content for all digital and social media platforms.
  • Eli Serota IC'17, a Senior Consultant at FTI Consulting, working in the firm’s Strategic Communications-Industrials practice. He mainly focuses on high profile litigation and crisis/cyber issues management, public affairs and government relations, in addition to being a member of FTI’s Global Aviation offering. Eli graduated Ithaca College in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications and a minor in Politics.
  • Nicki Diacik, an IC ’19 graduate, is a marketing professional, freelance graphic designer, and oil painter. With a background in IMC and fine art, her interests lie in the intersections of branding, consumer insights, and design. She currently works in marketing at JCDecaux North America, an out-of-home advertising company based in NYC.

We Are Next is a resource for students and junior talent starting their careers in advertising and marketing.

Park Professional Development offers a series of forums to make new connections, spark insights and build momentum in a shared interest in communications. The forums allow faculty, staff, students and alumni to gather online in an open, accessible format that engages our community and allies in discussions around the industries and professions of Park.
