Walter Chon (Theatre Arts) Invited as a Panelist for Day of Translation 2020 at George Mason UniversityContributed by Walter Chon on 10/01/20 Walter Byongsok Chon, Assistant Professor of Dramaturgy and Theatre Studies in the Theatre Arts Department, was invited as a panelist for the Day of Translation 2020: The Translation of Theater, hosted via Zoom by the Alan Cheuse International Writers Center at George Mason University on September 30, 2020 He talked about how he became a theatrical translator and shared his process of translation, his experience with theatrical productions of his translations, and the particular challenges in translating Korean into English in theatre. He was joined by renowned translators Caridad Svich, Neil Blackadder, and Rebekah Maggor.
