When your mind drifts off during quiet moments - hold those thoughts and get a pen. If you're sorting through old papers, pull out that forgotten list of potential names for your future rock/pop band. It may come in handy.  If you've been interrupted mid-sentence several times a week and only remember half of what you were about to say, cut and paste those sentences together into a whole new thought.  When a bird's chirp speaks to you, write down your interpretation. Congratulations. You already have material to compose your Haiku. 

Haiku Project. No poetry writing experience  necessary. Anonymous entries accepted. Deadline to submit: October 9th.  

*Haiku is a traditional Japanese form of poetry: a 17 syllable poem written in three lines. First line = 5 syllables, second line = 7 and third line = 5.  (The 5-7-5 style is one variation that is commonly used in English Haiku).
