(Tonight) Antisemitism on College Campuses: A conversation with Deborah LipstadtContributed by Max Kasler on 10/21/20 Join us for an engaging conversation about antisemitism on college campuses with Deborah Lipstadt. Attendees will gain a more nuanced and research-grounded understanding of antisemitism, learning of its origins and vectors, as well as strategies for combating the myriad ways in which antisemitism manifests on campuses today. This discussion will build on Deborah Lipstadt's recent book, Antisemitism: Here and Now.
Dr. Deborah E. Lipstadt, Dorot professor of Holocaust Studies at Emory University in Atlanta, has published and taught about the Holocaust and antisemitism for close to 40 years. Professor Lipstadt’s book, ANTISEMITISM: HERE AND NOW has just been published to stellar reviews and been awarded the NATIONAL JEWISH BOOK AWARD. Publisher’s Weekly described it as “measured and carefully noninflammatory.. intelligent and evenhanded.” Kirkus described it as a “tour de force.” The book has already appeared in a German and Hebrew translation and will soon appear in Polish, Italian, and French. She is frequently called upon by the Congress of the United States to testify and consult on contemporary antisemitism. She testified before the House Foreign Relations Committee in February 2020 on contemporary antisemitism and potential responses by the United States. This event is October 21, 2020 07:00 PM Eastern!
