Prof. Doug Turnbull published a full paper entitled "Exploring Acoustic Similarity for Novel Music Recommendation" at the International Society for Music Information Retrieval conference. ISMIR '20 is being held (virtual) this week in Montreal, Canada. The paper is co-authored by Derek Cheng (Amazon Music) and Thorsten Joachims (Cornell.)

In addition, Prof. Turnbull also published a workshop paper "Can We Determine Artist Origin from Past Live Events?" with co-authors Michael Zhou and Throsten Joachims from Cornell.

Both papers describe research related to our NSF-sponsored project locaify.org. Localify.org is tool that you can use to discover artists from within your local music community. It was recently relaunched with a renewed focused on supporting artists during COVID-19.
