Looking for a community of students who want to make the world a better place?Contributed by Michele Lenhart on 10/16/20 The Social Action Leadership series will help you meet a community of IC students who want to learn how to actively and safely promote social change during the Covid era. Register for the series by October 23 and you will receive a package in the mail with supplies to make a different resistance-inspired craft project during each of the engaging and topical sessions that takes place on Thursdays in November. The Social Action Leadership Series (SALS) is made up of three events where students can focus on the leadership skills required to be an effective community organizer and social justice activist. During the SALS, students will learn about a social justice topic, and while creating tangible pieces that can be shared to promote awareness of an important social issue in a safe way during COVID times. Our hope is to develop a community connection between student participants who attend all events in the series - connections that are much needed right now! The SALS events will take place via Zoom on Thursday afternoons from 4:00-5:30pm on the following dates:
All materials are provided for attendees and will be mailed to participants before the first session. There is no cost to participate. Check out the Social Action Leadership Series website for more information and to register!
