The Ithacan has once again been awarded a national Newspaper Pacemaker Award by the Associated Collegiate Press. The Pacemaker, the ACP’s top honor, is widely regarded as “the Pulitzer Prize of collegiate journalism.” “The Pacemaker is the association’s preeminent award," executive director Laura Widmer said. “ACP is honored to recognize the best of the best.” The ACP is the oldest and largest national membership organization for college journalists in the country. The award was for papers produced during the 2019-20 academic year (Sophia Adamucci ’20 editor-in-chief). The winners were announced during the Fall (Virtual) National College Media Convention on October 22. In 2017, The Ithacan was inducted into the ACP Pacemaker Hall of Fame in recognition of its numerous Pacemaker finalist nominations and wins.
