What are YOU grateful for?

Contributed by Sarah Shank on 10/30/20

Join other staff throughout the month of November for a Gratitude Practice.

This year has been especially trying--and sometimes it has been difficult to see the "forest for the trees" so to speak. Therefore, we [Employee Engagement Committee] invite each of you to join in a gratitude practice for the month of November.

Feel free to participate as you wish or are able.  We invite you to reflect each day on something that you are grateful for.  Comment on any of the Staff Council Facebook Group prompts, or initiate your own.  We encourage you to take the time to thank someone on campus, or just send them a note that you're thinking of them.

Here are some ideas on how to put your gratitude in action this month:

  • Write a note to a colleague (or anyone) you admire/respect/or are thankful for (No Facebook required)
  • Post about something you're grateful for to the FB Group. You can use words, a meme, or pictures.
  • Keep a list of all the things you're grateful for that come to mind throughout the month and then reflect on it at the end of the month.
  • Make a gratitude collage with pictures or images of things you are thankful for.
  • Volunteer time or other resources to an organization
  • Say thank you & Smile
