Time to Act! A new ICC-designated course on the science and politics of climate changeContributed by Eric Leibensperger on 11/03/20 Time to Act: The Science and Politics of Climate Change (PHYS/ENVS 14700) is a new 3-credit introductory class focused entirely on the physical science, social, economic, and political aspects of climate change. The course views the Quest for a Sustainable Future and Inquiry, Imagination, and Innovation themes through the Natural Science perspective. Course topics will include an introduction to the climate system and energy, an overview of policy actions and options, climate skepticism and activism, climate justice, and our uncertain climate future. Students will study the interplay between science, politics, and economics in the creation of equitable and effective climate mitigation policies.
