Nancy Sanders has worked for more than four decades in television news, most of them serving as a news manager and producers for WIVB, WKBW, WGRZ and Bridges TV. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Buffalo Broadcasters Association, the FBI Buffalo Citizens Alumni Association, and the Buffalo Arts Council.

Working with students in internship programs was always a priority and it is a great pleasure to see many of those former interns now leading very successful careers in television, radio, and other media positions. The incredible changes in technology in local newsrooms has been very exciting and I am proud to say that I initiated some segments and programs for the internet that were very successful very early on. For instance, at a time when people were just learning about Yahoo and Google, we started a daily newscast that appeared on the WKBW website called Afternoon Express. No one was doing anything like it at the time. I fought very hard to bring cameras into courts in New York State, attending many meetings and organizing local media members to make it a reality.

At the time I also served as President of the New York State Associated Press Broadcast Association- the first woman to do so. Nancy joined the Buffalo Broadcasters Board to be more involved in issues facing broadcasting and to help preserve our history with local television and radio archive material.  We are hoping to make many of the hidden treasures available to the public online and in a Buffalo Broadcasting museum structure that would unite the Music Hall of Fame, the Sports Hall of fame and the Broadcasters Hall of Fame under one structure.

An Ithaca College grad and 13WHAM News Sports Director, Mike Catalana ‘85 is in charge of a staff of talented sports journalists who take a unique look at the humor and humanity behind the scores and highlights. The 13WHAM Sports Department works to keep you informed on local sports on 13WHAM ABC, FOX Rochester, 13WHAM.com, Facebook and Twitter.

Mike's most popular feature is "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly", seen every Thursday night at 6 o'clock. It is an entertaining look at the best and worst plays of the week. Mike broke into sportscasting in Binghamton, where he worked for WMGC-TV (now WIVT). He came to channel 13 back in 1987 as a sports reporter and was named Sports Director in 1989. Mike has covered just about every major sporting event in the country including numerous Super Bowls, the Stanley Cup Finals, the Masters, and the World Series. His love of sports has been a lifelong passion.
