The Serve VISTA program is a life-changing opportunity to impact poverty and gain professional skills in City government. VISTAs serve across city government working on programs, policy and initiatives relating to economic opportunity, healthy futures and education.

Benefits include:

  • Bi-weekly stipend (approx. $542 every 2 weeks)
  • Education Award ($6,095) or End of Service Cash Stipend ($1,800)
  • Relocation Allowance (if relocating 50+ miles to serve).
  • Monthly transportation pass.
  • 80+ hours of professional development and team building.
  • Valuable experience and networking in government.
  • Non-competitive eligibility for Federal job opportunities after successful completion of service.
  • 5 additional points on City of Philadelphia Civil Service Exams

"Our program is unique and one of the few programs within local government that serves as a career pathway for undergraduates," says Ana Polanco Vista Program Coordinator.

Park Professional Development offers a series of virtual forums to make new connections, spark insights and build momentum in our shared interest in communications. We'll gather online in an open, accessible format that engages our community and allies in driving the discussion around our mutual industries and professions.
