Luca Maurer, director of the Center for LGBT Education, Outreach & Services, served as a presenter during the 13th annual Mid-Atlantic LGBTQA Conference hosted by Bloomsburg University, held virtually this year.

Luca's session, "Learning Our Past to Leverage Our Liberation" explored themes including:

  • How can our LGBTQ ancestors' activism and advocacy inform our lives today?
  • How can we find and tell their stories?
  • How does our past inform our future, and ultimately our liberation?

This year's conference theme was Hindsight is 20/20: The Past is a Mirror to the Future. Since its inception, the primary goal of this conference has been to serve as a venue for fostering interactions, collaborations, and friendships between LGBTQA individuals and groups across the region.
